Our Story

KORMA was created as a healthy alternative to traditional coffee that provides natural energy! We strive to provide a rich morning experience that is not only energizing, but relaxing and healthy. Our goal was to create a blend that not only taste like coffee, but provides everything you need to get your day off to a great start. KORMA was made with health at forefront of the overall focus. We wanted to make a coffee that everybody could enjoy, whether you're on a restricted diet, suffer from side effects of coffee, or you're simply looking to live a healthier lifestyle.
The Story of KORMA
To properly tell the story, we have to go back to December 12, 2010. I woke up one morning with an odd pain in my right arm, followed by a slight pain in my chest. I didn't think much of it, so I got up and walked it off. I lied back down in bed and the pain returned shortly thereafter. The pain intensified in my chest and although it wasn't unbearable by any means, it was a pain I had never experienced so I went to the emergency room. After running a couple tests, doctors discovered I was having a heart attack. I was 20 years old.
Fast forward to September 2020, when the idea for KORMA was born.
I had for the most part given up coffee, it gives me discomfort in my chest, but I love the taste. And to be honest, caffeine never really did anything for me. I love the taste of coffee. I love the ritual; waking up and having coffee, or having coffee while I work.
I'm a resourceful person, and I like to eat dates. I noticed I was throwing away a lot of seeds so I thought, "I wonder if I can do anything with these." It turns out you can turn them into coffee! I started making it for myself in my kitchen but it was a bit of a hassle so I searched to see if anybody sold it in stores or online. Couldn't find it. Ahah!
I was searching for a coffee alternative that tastes like coffee without the caffeine and without the process of decaffeinating it. Not only that, but I feel more energized and engaged in my mornings with no lag later on in the day. I know there are so many people who don't care for the caffeine, or maybe coffee gives them heartburn, but love the taste and ritual and are also searching for something like this, and I'm thrilled to help you find it.
